Cricket in India

Cricket, it is a sport. Ya, it's really a good sport and I love it too and play it a lot when I was young. But here in India, it is a religion. Every match is like a festival. You can see colorful skies both during the beginning and at the end of each match. Every match is more like a war. The stadium is the battle ground. Every player, every spectator and every other person both physically and virtually present , are in some way a part of the battle. A lot of humor is also found in the play. It is not that they have any vengeance or any kind of enmity among themselves. But the reason is enthuse, their involvement, their involvement. It's a passion for every other Indian. It is another known fact that every other Indian wishes to be a cricketer at any point of time in his life. More over we can find alot of and a wide range of people playing cricket at many places. They play at beach, park, streets and these include from the kindergarten kids to the men on their 40-50s.

It is good to hear this. But, cricket is not the only sport all over the world. Seeing from the point of diversity, we can say that India and Indians have become selfish confining themselves only to cricket. Take for example soccer. It is a great sport and there is no Indian team for the international audience. As a matter of fact, no other sport has a team. Hmmm....  It's quite embarrassing. There should be motivation and more concentration about this issue. We see Indians seeing the Olympics with eagerness to see at least a single gold medal in the chart. But we confine ourselves and get satisfied with a single gold medal. More training and more number of participants are required. Oh!! Wait.. India is the second largest country in terms of population. There is no willing parent who is really interested to send his/her child to the line of spot or any other line which the kid likes and overlay the burden of studies over them (only if they think it is a burden). Academics are a part of everything. Basic academics are required for everyone but after that he/ she can choose their own field of study. Studies not only include science and theory and engineering, it also includes, sports, army, community service, journalism, photography, artist, cobbler and so on. What’s wrong here?? Here, no one wants to think out of box and moreover they want things to happen in the way they want it to be.

Come on guys it is 21st century..... Think different. Peruse your goals. It's now or never. We got only one life man. Oh.. I'm not an atheist... :P But it is only once that we remember this living. So, what are we waiting for? PUll up your socks!! Go ahead, achieve something and put your name on the books and let history register you!
